Help shape the future of procurement at Aster Group

Are you an experienced procurement leader looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact? Do you thrive on building strategic partnerships, delivering commercial value, and influencing major business decisions?

At Aster Group, we're looking for a Senior Procurement Business Partner (Property & Development) to play a pivotal role in driving procurement excellence across our property, asset management, and development activities. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our procurement function while supporting the delivery of high-quality homes and services to our customers.

The Opportunity:

As a trusted business partner, you'll work closely with senior stakeholders across Property Services, Property Investment, Development, Regulated Delivery and other key directorates. You'll lead strategic procurement initiatives, develop innovative sourcing strategies, and ensure our procurement activities deliver outstanding value for money, strong governance, and meaningful social value outcomes.

You'll have the opportunity to influence significant investment decisions, lead complex procurement projects, and support the development of a modern, commercial, and customer-focused procurement service.

As a business partner, you role will include:

  • Partnering with operational and leadership teams across the business to deliver procurement strategies aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to maximise commercial value and support delivery of operational targets.
  • Analysing spend, market opportunities, and risks to develop a robust procurement pipeline.
  • Designing and delivering procurement and category strategies across property, asset, and development spend areas.
  • Leading end-to-end tendering and procurement exercises, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Driving value for money initiatives, incorporating ESG, sustainability, and social value considerations into procurement decisions.
  • Leading a team of three, coaching, mentoring, and developing the team, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

About you:

You will be an accomplished procurement professional who combines strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills.

You'll bring:

  • At least five years' experience in a senior procurement role, ideally within property, asset management, construction, development, housing, or a related sector. You will have a degree-level education or an equivalent professional qualification, ideally MCIPS or working towards it.
  • A proven track record of delivering complex procurement projects and achieving measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience developing procurement, category, and sourcing strategies that balance value, quality, risk, and compliance.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and risk management capabilities.
  • Experience leading, managing, and developing procurement professionals.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of UK public sector procurement regulations and associated legislation.
  • Experience using procurement and contract management systems and a confidence in adapting to new technologies.

This is a hybrid role, enabling you to base yourself from home. There will be the need to travel within our operating region to attend working together days and meet with stakeholders, so the ability to travel is a must.

Our operating region includes Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.
